VENICE - SEPTEMBER 18 - 20

This marks the beginning of our long-awaited trip to Italy!
Before joining the "Europe ThroughThe Back Door" tour, we spent two nights in Venice. We were in Venice four years ago and did all the "must do" things then, so we spent these two days just relaxing and enjoying this ancient town of canals, bridges, tourists, and quaint cafes.
Though it was pouring rain when we arrived late in the afternoon, the following morning we were happy to see the sun shining.

We stayed at "Hotel Flora" while in Venice....
because of its catchy name?

Each of the many islands that make up Venice has its own church and bell tower.

Canals instead of streets make boats an integral part of navigation in Venice.
