THIN SLICE OF SUNSHINE

Enjoying a coffee and juice in the sunshine.
Moments of sunshine will be rare, with on-and-off rain predicted for the rest of the week.

FUN WEEKEND

I invited all my grand-daughters to a tea party on March 12th..
It was pretty neat that Karis could make it down to the party this year..
Mom Jenn helped Karis prepare for the big event by teaching her "tea party manners."
Pete flew down with Karis, and we put him to work!  He and Dad assembled a little dinette set for the bunkhouse.
Karis is looking pretty and ready for the tea party!
Lizzie is also dressed and ready to help me serve.
Besides helping at the tea party, Lizzie came the day
before to help prepare the food....dipping pretzels,
dipping strawberries, making tuna salad, and frosting cupcakes.

All of the moms went to "That 1 Place" and all the men and little boys went to "Five Guys Burger and Fries" while the little girls had their tea party with grandma.  Afterwards we all met at Jake and Vereni's house for BBQ Ribs and Chicken with Asian Zing.

WE ARE ON OUR WAY....MARCH 6, 1970!

Forty-one years ago today Harry and I were married.
This photo shows us leaving for our honeymoon in Palm Springs.
Harry had just wrecked his own car (also a VW, but a newer nicer one),
so we used the Weeda Volkswagen, which had seen better days at this point.
On our drive to Palm Springs we encountered beautiful sunshine, dismal fog, splattering rain, the instability of high winds, a blinding sandstorm, and a flat tire....a pretty apt metaphor of the marital journey?!?
Our years together have not been without bumps in the road, but, overall, we feel very blessed.
Harry, you are truly my best friend!

DON'T WORRY

"If you decide for God,
living a life of God-worship,
it follows that you don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes
or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion.
There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach,
more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body.

Look at the birds,
free and unfettered,
not tied down to a job description,
careless in the care of God.

And you count far more to him than birds.
Matthew 6:25-27 (The Message)
