The final moments for these birds....
For the last few years, Monica DeKruyf has been raising turkeys and offering them to friends and family for their Thanksgiving dinners. If you agree to take one of the birds, you also commit to help with the killing, beheading, eviscerating, and plucking. This was our first experience at the annual "DeKruyf Turkey Plucking Party."

I heard you didn't even get your hands dirty. Isn't that the whole point?
i may not have gotten my hands dirty, but i watched the beheadings, and smelled the smells of the slaughter. was brad still smelly when he got home? when i think about the peculiar odor, my stomach gets queasy.
i was glad to be part of the event though. dekruyfs handled everything efficiently and respectfully.
