APRIL 8 IS A SPECIAL DAY

On April 8, 1977 my dad died of a brain tumor. He was only 59 years old. Over the years, I've had dreams in which dad appears, and when I wake, I feel so disappointed...it's good to be with him in those subconscious moments, to hear his voice and his laughter. I hardly ever have dreams like that anymore, and after 31 years it's hard to remember. But my mom told me that Dad's motto for life was Psalm 15. So when I want to hold on to my memory of dad, that is what I read.

Psalm 15
Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
he whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the Lord,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken.
