NEITHER RAIN NOR SNOW NOR SLEET NOR HAIL....

Footprints to the mailbox
There is the saying, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"...That quote is often said to be the motto of the US Postal Service.
I don't know if that is true or not, but I know this much is true....
I look forward to the arrival of the mail Mondays through Saturdays.
The weather will not deter me from discovering what surprises I might find in my mailbox!

Check it out!
Jake painted his old Honda Accord.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLY

Happy Birthday, Elly!
Many many people showed up at El Cazador to honor Elly on her special day.
Ours was not the only large group in the restaurant that night.  With only two servers to handle the large crowd,  Vereni quickly came to the rescue and helped to take orders, bring out beverages, and chips, and salsa.
A fun night for everyone, except maybe the guest of honor?!?

FEBRUARY TRIP TO OTIS ORCHARDS

We left home on a dry day in Buhl, but the Palouse was blanketed in snow.

Peter, Grandpa Harry, Liam and Karis enjoying the pool at the Peppertree Hotel.

On the way home, we visited the Nez Perce Museum, a very worthwhile stop.

Scott 'Scooter' Goodwin

March 30, 1970 to Feb. 14, 2011

HAGERMAN - Scott "Scooter" Goodwin passed away Monday, Feb.14, 2011, at the North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding, Idaho.

Scott was born to Mary and Larry Goodwin on March 30, 1970, in Ceres, Calif. Scott attended Hilmar schools and graduated from Hilmar High School. Scott was a star football player and received much recognition from the local community and many write-ups in the newspaper. Scott never lost his love for the game.

Scott moved to Hagerman in 2002 and helped his parents operate the popular Larry and Mary's Restaurant. Scott was much loved by all of his customers and friends; he had a generous happy heart and would help anyone who needed help. Scott's infectious laugh raised the spirits of everyone who came in contact with him. Scott loved the outdoors, sports, NASCAR racing, and was a die-hard Boise State Bronco fan.

Scott is survived by his parents, Mary and Larry Goodwin; his daughters, Jordyn and Bryana; his brother, Danny; his sister-in-law, Rosie; his sister, Stacy; aunts, Vickie Booth, Cathie Cramer and Lina Schouten; uncles, Larry Jones and Rob Hatfield; and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the American Legion Hall, 281 N. State St. in Hagerman.

Come to me, all you who are  weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you
and learn from from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

A WOLF? OR "THE LUCY-REPLACEMENT-SHOW"?

Several months ago, we lost our dog Lucy.
This dog was found on Craigslist...."free to good home."
We are hoping that LucyTwo, raised to be a house dog,
can adjust to life in the outdoors on a dairy.
